I went out with my friends last night to cotton eyed joes. Paid $15 to get in so I didnt have to stand in the line that was wrapped around the building, got my shoes puked on by my best friend, right in front of the bar( but it was her bday too,so I think she double dosed it),had to keep another friend out of a fight, and later that night had to pull over so she could bark at the road. But,besides dealing with the growling splash monkeys, and the not being able to walk without rubbing elbows with some drunk, hairy, Ron Jeremy in the 70's look-a-likes, I guess I had an alright time. I think next year I might just stay home and watch the ball drop.Maybe my New Years resolution should be figuring out why I even continue to drag myself out to the places.

The Crud

Been coughing up mucus: Light Blogging

5 Weirdest Habits

Well, thanks to Tam trying to give me something new to talk about on here, I've got stuck doing another meme. So here goes the list of my 5 weirdest habits:

Whether it be chips or whatever that usually has more flavor on one side than the other, I have to eat the flavored side down, so thats it's facing my tongue. That way you get the full affect.

Whenever I go somewhere, I like to keep all my stuff together, in one little pile. I cant stand for something to be across the room, thinking I am going to leave it there or lose something, but at home I throw stuff everywhere.

Like above, at work I like everything to be organized and in its place, but could care less at home.

Soon as I get out of the shower, I have to hurry and pick my hair out and put it in a towel, I cant stand for my wet hair being on my back, but if i have been swimming or something , then it doesnt bother me. Same goes for people putting their shirt on while their back is still wet. Drives me nuts(Dont ask, these are supposed to be weird.)

And at last, as Josh (Southparkpundit) stated, I also, "quote movie lines in conversation whenever possible."

Retail World

Well, we have been selling guns at work like hot cakes. I worked at Guncraft for a year before Coal Creek bought the place, and I've never seen that many guns get sold in one week. Like Tam said in her blog, "I have been working in the firearms industry since Winter of '93. Coal Creek Armory is the fourth FFL I have worked for." And "On Friday, December 16th, 2005, I saw more guns sell in one day than I have on any other day since I started doing this for a living." I do know that my grandparents are planning on taking me out to eat Japenese, so I am looking forward to that. Then, my friends are wanting to go out. The young cowboy took the seat next to the old timer, bought him a drink, and told him the story of his great ambition."Do you think you could give me some tips?" he asked. The old man looked him up and down and said,"Well, for one thing you're wearing your gun too high. Tie the holster a little lower down on your leg.""Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the young man."Sure will," said the old timer. The young man did as he was told, stood up, whipped out his . 44 and shot the bow tie off the piano player."That's terrific!" said the cowboy, "Got any more tips for me?" "Yep," said the old man, "Cut a notch out of your holster where the hammer hits it. That'll give you a smoother draw.""Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the younger man."You bet it will," said the old timer. The young man took out his knife, cut the notch, stood up, drew his gun in a blur, and shot a cufflink off the piano player."Wow!" said the cowboy, "I'm learnin' somethin' here--got any more tips?"The old can pointed to a large can in a corner of the saloon. "See that axle grease over there? Coat your gun with it."The young man went over to the can and smeared some of the grease on the barrel of his gun."No," said the old timer, "I mean smear it all over the gun, handle and all.""Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the young man."No," said the old timer, "but when Wyatt Earp gets done playin' the piano, he's going to shove that gun up your ass, and it won't hurt as much.

We all have our thanksgiving stories to tell, don't we? But Let me tell you about mine today. It all started out at 5:30 am. I was all dressed in Camo with my case XX in my mouth crawling on my belly along a trail frequented by turkey's. I slowly crawled up to them and when the opportunity presented itself I lunged from underneath the brush that was providing me cover and took out the turkey walking behind. I quickly slit his throat and watched his blood squirt everywhere....But he didnt make a sound to warn the other turkey's. Then I progressively moved up until I had overtaken their leader. It was a swift death. He never saw me coming. It was a good day. 9 turkey's in my sack and I was off to pluck them and roast them on the fire. But then I awoke to the sound of the alarm clock going off at 11:30 and realized it was just a dream. So, then it was time for a shower, got dressed and then headed off to the grandparents for the real thing. But I was really disappointed because the turkey served there was no where as large as the one I had slaughtered in my dream. But it was good and Im stuffed. Tonight Im going to think about money before I go to sleep. who knows.....

How do these people find us?

From time to time, we get some interesting individuals in the store. Tam and Alston have both previously posted on some of the things we encounter during the day. Like the guy wanting to know what .50 caliber Barrett's we had in stock, but that he wanted "one big enough to blow a hole so big through a bear, that you could see the sun shining through the other side." And then he asked"Well, do you carry grenades?". And even sounded disappointed to find out that we didn't. Sorry to ruin your weekend sir!
Another time a man called 4 times to get directions to the store, only to find out when he got there, that he had just been there the day before. The fact that he showed up stoned out of his gourd might've had something to do with it. But, we look for stuff like that, and needless to say he wasn't there long and is now banned from the store. At least it gives us stories to tell.

Gun Talk

Well, lets start by telling you about my small, but climbing gun collection. The first gun i bought was a Sig Sauer P239 9mm.The moment i held it,I knew it had to be mine.Ive got small hands so I just loved the grip on it.I had been out of practice shooting when I got it, and of course first time I shot it I thought"These sights are way off!" But after warming up to it, I could shoot pretty accurate with it. Enough so, that I trusted it to be the gun that I took to get my HCP with. I carried it for 2 years until everyone kept telling me that I just had to get a 1911,which brings me to the gun i carry now,my stainless Kimber Compact CDP II .45. They were right! I just love it! It's got the beavertail safety, Meprolight night sights, amidexitrous safety, and checkered wood grips. The fact that i can carry this one cocked and locked, isnt too shabby either. Ammo can get expensive on a .45 tho, so I needed something i could just plink around with or take squirrel hunting. When a Ruger 10/22 came in the store, I decided to pick it up. It was Mossy Oak camo, and already had a scope mounted on it.Not the one I would have probaly put on there, but it'll do. I haven't got to shoot it yet, but I'm anxious to take it out. I'm working on getting a digital camera or getting my scanner fixed, whichever one is cheaper, but when I do, I'll posts some pics up.

First log on the blog

After listening to everyone at work telling me that I needed a blog, here I am! I should tell you a little bit about myself. I work at Coal Creek Armory with all of the other self proclaimed merchants of death. Im 24 and a single mom who enjoys shooting, camping, hunting, fishing, drive-bys....oops! I mean riding around, and surfing the net. Im currently in the process of training the next world class gun- toting redneck, my 4 year old son Chris. If I could ever get the work schedule to accomodate, I would like to go to school for criminal justice. So if the higher powers of employment are reading this, remember that you may be hindering the education and wasting the mind of the next agent Starling. O.k., so enough about me for now. Let's talk about guns.
